In her cultural hometown roots of Queens, New York, Trudee Lunden started singing, playing guitar and writing songs while still a youth in grade school. After moving to Los Angeles to attend college, Trudee achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Music with English and Business Minors from the University of Redlands, California. As a lifelong enthusiast of Top 40 Radio, she also served as Disc Jockey and Music Director for the connected collegiate and community airwaves of KUOR-FM. Amidst her studies, Trudee also took songwriting lessons with the legendary Tommy Boyce, and later moved to Nashville, Tennessee to fine tune her storytelling skills. Throughout her career she's been an active member of numerous professional organizations including The National Academy of Songwriters, Los Angeles Songwriters Showcase, Nashville Songwriters Association International, SongNet, Los Angeles Songwriters Co-op, Los Angeles Women In Music, and Songsalive. Trudee is also a founding charter member of the Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society, and she is a BMI affiliate. Trudee is a prolific songwriter and lyricist who creates melodic mainstream music in many genres, including but not limited to Country, Pop, Rock, Folk, Americana, Blues, R&B, Novelty and Adult Contemporary styles. Her lyrics communicate a core collective consciousness, laced with universal messages, catchy titles and memorable hooks.
Trudee enjoys performing at acoustic songwriter venues, especially when she can promote social and political causes. A natural health-oriented environmentalist and activist at heart, she's inspired to explore and write "message music" about important or unique subjects like world peace, labor unions, personal freedom, runaway teens, spas, and even eco-minded electric cars.
Trudee's work has received accolades from Billboard Magazine for "I Knew" and Travel Weekly Magazine for "A Caribbean Cruise". Her song "Good Friends" was featured in the documentary "Unconditional Love: The AIDS Heartline Story" – a film depicting how St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Redondo Beach, California reaches out to support those in need.
With a background that also incorporates advertising and marketing expertise, her special talent is crafting compositions that sound like theme-oriented commercial music. She depicts a myriad of moods – from silly to serious – with her focus on marrying words and music, because it all begins with a song.
As a travel aficionado and resident at one time or another of the three main US music cities (NY, LA & Nashville) Trudee is always open to making friends, meeting or collaborating with like-minded folks from around the world, so send a message and say hello!
